Top 15 Internationally Renowned Chinese Models

I think all of you must have heard Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.  If you take a look at this fashion show in the past 2 years, you’ll easily find that there were more Chinese faces featured than ever before. In fact, Chinese models have been breaking into high fashion around the world. Today, I’ll introduce a list of internationally renowned Chinese models who feature the oriental beauty and character in the international fashion world.

  1. Qu yin

Joie Qu Ying was born July 2, 1971 in Changsha, Hunan. She has been called “China’s first generation of supermodel,” and has represented international brands such as Pantene and Maybelline cosmetics.

  1. Du Juan

Du Juan was born September 15, 1982, in Shanghai, China. She is a Chinese fashion model, peaked at number 14 on model ranking site models.com, film actress, and former ballet dancer. She has been touted as the world’s first international Chinese supermodel. She remains the first and only Asian model to be on the cover of Vogue Paris, and has appeared on the cover of Vogue China a record 13 times, more than any other model or celebrity. In 2005, she became the first ever Asian cover-model featured in the cover of Vogue Paris.

  1. Liu Wen

Liu Wen was born January 27, 1988. In 2012, The New York Times dubbed her “China’s first bona fide supermodel”. She is the first model of East Asian descent to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the first spokesmodel of East Asian descent for the Estée Lauder Companies, and the first Asian model to ever make Forbes magazine’s annual highest-paid models list. In 2017, Liu became the first Chinese model to ever appear on the front cover of American Vogue. In 2013 she also became the first Asian to be in the top five on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid models, as number 5 and gained a rank of 3 on the Top 50 Models Women List by Models.com. In July 2014, Models.com elevated her to the status of “New Supermodel”, the first Asian model to ever receive that honor.

  1. Fei Fei Sun

Born March 20, 1989, Sun Feifei is a top Chinese supermodel based in New York City. She is ranked as the New Supers by models.com. She is a spokesmodel of cosmetic giant Estée Lauder. In 2013 she became the first Asian model to front a solo cover for Vogue Italia’s January issue. She was also the first Asian model to front Valentino campaign. In 2016, Models.com moved out of the top 50 Models ranking and became Industry Icon

  1. Ming Xi

Ming Xi or Xi Mengyao was born 8 March 1989. Her international modeling career took off in 2011 after she walked her first well-known runway debut for Givenchy Haute Spring Show. Ming Xi also modeled for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show since 2013.

  1. Xiao Wen Ju

Xiao Wen Ju was born 19 May 1989. She was the first model of Chinese descent to be the face of Marc Jacobs. As of July 2012 she was ranked number 22 on models.com’s Top 50 female models list. In 2015 she was placed as number 6 in Arogundade’s top ten Asian models list. She walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016. As of 2017, she was inducted into models.com’s list of Industry Icons.

  1. Sui He

Sui He was born September 23, 1989. She was the first East Asian model to open a Ralph Lauren runway show and the second model of Chinese descent to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion in the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows, becoming the second model of Asian heritage after Liu Wen to walk for Victoria’s Secret. In 2012, Sui He was selected to be the first Asian global spokesmodel for Shiseido

  1. Shu Pei

Qin Shupei was born August 10, 1990. Shupei was signed with Next Management, the modeling agency in New York in 2007. In 2010, Shupei had walked 60 shows in total, and was selected as one of the Top 50 models on Model.com in 2011. She walked Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in November 2012 for the first time, became the third Asian model who walked Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

  1. Zhang Zilin

Zhang Zilin is a Chinese actress, singer, fashion model and beauty queen who won Miss China World in 2007 and later was crowned as Miss World 2007. During her reign, she traveled to over 80 cities in 20 countries. Some of these countries are the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Vietnam and South Africa.

  1. Lü Yan

Lü Yan was born 19 October 1981. She is a Chinese fashion designer and former model. During her career as a model she worked with Dior, Gucci, Lanvin and Alexander McQueen. After retiring from modelling, Lu become a fashion designer with her own label Comme Moi.

  1. Lu Ping Wang

She was discovered in a shopping mall in her hometown of Guangzhou. She did domestic modeling while finishing college, and was then promptly scooped up SMG Model Management and made her 2015 debut by walking the Burberry catwalk. From there, she modeled for Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, and Hermes.

  1. Xin Xie

She made her debut on the Victoria’s Secret 2017 catwalk and her name has since been bandied around the internet. However, the native of Guangdong Province has already walked the Miu Miu Resort 2016 show, covered T Magazine China, and appeared in editorials for Vogue China and VogueMe.

  1. Jing Wen

Li Jingwen is a Chinese fashion model. She is considered by Vogue as one of the top models from China. She is known for modeling for Prada. As of July 2017, she is ranked as one of the Top 50 models in the fashion industry by models.com. Jing Wen has been on the cover of Vogue Italia and Vogue China.

  1. He Cong

Born in China, supermodel-in-the-making He Cong made the runways of New York, London, Milan, and Paris her home throughout the Fall 2017 season. Still, this stunner looks equally in her element in flirty Christian Dior as she does in dramatic Alexander McQueen.

  1. Chu Wong

As an up-and –coming model, she has already featured for Christian Dior, Kenzo, Prada, Hermès and Fendi shows, along with an impressive amount of editorial shoots and ad campaigns.
