In October, well-known Chinese TV host Li Yong passes away in US at age 50, which shocked all of us. His wife, Ha Wen announced on Sina Weibo that Li died from an undisclosed type of cancer, saying “I have lost my eternal love”. Condolence messages have been flooding Chinese social media for this popular former state television host. Ha’s post on microblogging site Weibo had been viewed more than 760 million times and received more than 240,000 comments in just five hours. In fact, there are a wide range of host as preeminent as Li Yong in China. Here is a list of the top 10 Chinese TV hosts who have the perfect blend of smarts, charm and knowlege.

 

  1. Li Yong

Born on 3 May 1968, Li Yong was a leading host on China Central Television. He was known for hosting the programs Lucky 52, Super 6+1, and various editions of the CCTV New Year’s Gala. His unorthodox presentation skills and flamboyant outfit has given a deep impression on us. The World Brand Laboratory has recognized Li as the top TV host in China since their ranking began in 2004. The 2005 ranking described him as unconventional, “humorous and intelligent”. On 29 October 2018, Li’s wife Ha Wen revealed that he died in the United States on 25 October 2018 after a 17-month-battle with cancer.
